Romantic Preserved Flower Wedding at Fota Island – Adam & Daniel’s Day

Updated: Aug 21, 2025

On the 2nd of August, I had the honour of creating wedding flowers for Adam and Daniel’s ceremony at Fota Island Resort in Cork. It was a really special celebration — thoughtful, elegant, and completely reflective of them as a couple.

From the outset, they had a clear vision for their flowers: no roses, which is rare (especially for dried and preserved florals!). Instead, they requested gardenia flowers, which brought a softness and a lovely sense of distinction to the overall look. It was a nice challenge to work within that brief — and I think the result really suited the tone of their day.

The ceremony setup was beautifully simple but impactful. I created a unity piece for their ceremony table, two arrangements for tall pedestals framing the top of the aisle, and a small base arrangement that was originally planned to sit on a sandwich board, but ended up working just as well on the floor beneath their mirrored table plan. We also did 15 buttonholes for their wedding party.

The whole setting came together so seamlessly. Rev. Brenda O’Gorman hosted the ceremony, Munster String Quartet provided music, and everything was captured by the talented Elouuise (@elouuisephoto).

It was a privilege to be part of this day — Adam is the founder & CEO of the charity AsIAm and his best man was none other than current Tánaiste Simon Harris (former Taoiseach). I always feel lucky to be trusted with wedding flowers, but this one in particular felt very meaningful.
