Thresa & Bernard’s Galway Wedding

Thresa first reached out to me in October 2024 to chat about flowers for her and Bernard’s wedding, which took place in April this year. From the first email, she just had that lovely calm, grounded energy — exactly how you'd imagine a Connemara girl planning her big day.

The wedding took place in Galway, with the ceremony held at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in the Claddagh, followed by a reception in The Ardilaun Hotel in Salthill. Even though the day itself was a bit wet (classic Irish spring!), there was such a sense of joy in the air — you can really see it in the photos by @johnnymcphoto. He captured it all perfectly — the laughter, the emotion, and those quiet in-between moments that mean the most.

Thresa and Bernard kept the day really family-focused, which made it so personal. The flowers were a mix of soft whites, dusky pinks, and warm peachy tones — a blend of preserved and dried blooms that brought in lots of texture and gentle colour. We did her bouquet, pieces for the church including the unity arrangement, and florals for the bridal party and family. It was one of those jobs where everything just clicked — the palette, the people, and the feeling of the day.

Johnny summed it up so nicely in his own Insta

post: "A wet day didn’t dampen the spirits of these two lovebirds! Great banter and craic during the photoshoots… good people to be around." I couldn’t agree more.

Theresa was such a joy to work with — thoughtful, relaxed, and with a great eye for the kind of detail that makes a day feel special.
