Caitlin & Cathal – A Fairytale Wildflower Wedding in Adare

Caitlin and Cathal’s wedding in Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel was one of those days that just felt full of personality from the very beginning.
From the first message, Caitlin knew exactly the kind of feeling she wanted to create -something whimsical, colourful, and a little bit magical. The brief was fairytale/fantasy, like something you’d stumble across in a wild Irish meadow, just with a bit of sparkle woven through it.
Her inspiration leaned into wildflowers, soft textures, and lots of colour. Think blues, purples, reds and greens all coming together, with no strict rules - just layers of detail and movement. Baby’s breath, Irish-style wildflowers, and roses were key, while lilies were firmly off the list.
The end result was a really natural, abundant style bouquets that felt like they had been gathered rather than arranged to suit a wildflower wedding.
The Flowers
Caitlin’s bridal bouquet was designed to feel full and slightly undone, with lots of different textures and tones throughout. We worked in soft daisies, pops of colour, preserved foliage, and touches of baby’s breath to give that light, airy feel. Subtle butterflies were added through the bouquet, tying into the fairytale theme in a way that felt delicate rather than obvious.
For the wedding party, we created:
1 bridal bouquet
1 bridesmaid bouquet
14 buttonholes
4 corsages
Hair flowers
A table arrangement for the main setup
Each piece carried through the same mix of colour and texture, so everything felt cohesive without being overly matched.
The buttonholes were kept slightly more minimal but still playful, with little hints of colour and detail so they didn’t feel too traditional. The corsages and hair pieces were soft and natural, designed to sit easily without feeling too structured.
The Look & Feel
What made this wedding really stand out was the colourful, whimsical theme. The dried and preserved flowers worked so well for this style, holding their shape while still giving that wild, organic feel. The textures, from delicate florals to stronger stems and foliage, added so much depth across everything from the bouquets to the table arrangement.
Set against the backdrop of Adare, it all came together in a way that felt relaxed, romantic, and just a little bit magical.
