Colourful Dried Florals for a Pride Event at Tech HQ Dublin 2025

Updated: Aug 21

Back in May, I was asked to work on a Pride-themed floral installation for a global tech company’s HQ in Dublin. While I can’t name them, I can say they were genuinely a joy to work with — thoughtful, clear on their vision, and committed to creating something really memorable to celebrate Pride Month.

Their Dublin office was hosting a full week of events in June with attendees flying in from other regions, and they wanted the building to reflect the energy of the week — full of colour, life, and movement. From the outset, sustainability was a big priority, so we used only dried and preserved flowers. These would not only tie in beautifully with the vibrancy of Pride but would also last well beyond the events themselves — and in fact, they’re still up in the office now (in August!), still going strong.

We did a site visit in May to walk through the space and get a feel for how the flowers could work with the industrial setting — lots of concrete, black metal, and exposed finishes. I worked closely with their event manager, Jill Abbott (A freelance Event Specialist), in the lead-up, and she was an absolute dream. Clear, collaborative, and totally on board with the vision we were building. We wanted to make sure the florals felt like they belonged to the space — not just placed in it — and the idea of the flowers ‘growing from the cracks’ of the building really came to life from there.

On installation day — a Saturday morning — myself and my husband filled two cars with flowers, vessels, tools and fittings and headed in. We were joined by Jill and her friend, and honestly, it turned into such a team effort. Five hours of zip-tying installations, tucking stems into corners, and somehow finding a way to bring this huge, energetic brief to life.

Each piece was created to feel like it was naturally taking over the space — almost like the florals had always been growing there and just came into full bloom for Pride.

It was so nice to create something this bold and fun, especially knowing how much effort went into the full week of programming around it. A project like this reminds me how powerful colour and flowers can be — they’re not just decorative, they shape how a space feels, how people move through it, and even how they connect with each other.

Huge thanks to the whole team behind the project. It’s not always weddings… sometimes it’s ladders and cable ties and concrete cracks. And I love that.
